ABC takes delivery of the first of several Emmegi 5 axis CNC machining centers to manufacture curtain wall, window and door systems

With the Plant 5 building and support facilities now complete, the first wave of sophisticated manufacturing equipment is arriving on an almost daily basis. This week, the first of several Emmegi 5 Axis Machining Centers was received. These will be the heavy-duty workhorses of the new plant, and feature highly advanced technology for fast and precise milling, drilling, threading and cutting. Emmegi, based in Italy, is recognized as being the leading designer in CNC automation.

The extrusions will be supplied by ABC Aluminum’s 67 acre plant just five miles away. ABC currently has four presses with capabilities ranging from the latest SMS-Meer 3250MT 10 inch and Presezzi, 2250MT 8 inch, to 7 inch and 6 inch.

Here is a short clip showing a 5 axis CNC machining center in action:

Wadih Kuri said today “we are extremely pleased to take delivery of the first of our Emmegi machining centers and to see that the many months of planning is now becoming a reality.  This equipment represents the first core-phase of a further major investment for ABC, and will enable us to manufacture with flexibility and accuracy for customers, and for our own curtain wall and door and window systems that have been designed and are currently being tooled and cataloged”.
