Innovation and infrastructure

An ABC choice is a green choice

We have a scrap treatment line that allows us to use post-consumer scrap as raw material to replace the primary aluminum billet.

The recovered aluminum has a CO2 footprint of less than 2 tm compared to the 15 tm CO2 footprint of the primary billet.

Pre-shredder: Decompacts aluminum bales
Magnetic separator: separates pieces of iron or aluminum
Shredder: Cuts aluminum into 2.5” pieces
Trommel: Separates aluminum scrap over 2.5” and returns it to the shredder
Eddy Current: Separates non-metallic materials
X-RAY sorting (XRF): Removes zinc alloys, copper, and aluminum alloys not suitable for billet production

With the investment in new casting lines, an internal billet production increase of 5 to 15 million pounds per month is expected in diameters of 7, 8, 10, and 12 inches, suitable for any required process:

Scrap treatment line

Adequate technology for the shredding and separation of aluminum contaminants, delivering totally clean material for the transformation process.

Aluminum scrap treatment line

We have a system to recover aluminum from burrs, cleaning it from lubricants, humidity, and impurities.

Aluminum recovery from slag

We work with a rotary furnace having a cooling system for maximum metal recovery and waste minimization.

Casting and heat treatment lines

Innovation with a high-capacity melting furnace, supplying 2 casting lines to manufacture aluminum billets, completing the process with new homogenized equipment.

Agreement with sustainability

Part of our commitment is to comply with industry standards, as endorsed by the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

These standards allow us to verify our sustainability performance and communicate our efforts to our stakeholders. By obtaining the Official Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), we demonstrate our responsible practices and transparency to customers and investors. An additional 2 acres of land to facilitate the storage of ingot storage.
