ABC Sponsors and Exhibits at Aerospace Expo 2018

This biennial event took place on November 15th and 16th at the Baja Convention Center just south of Tijuana. Tijuana’s remarkable growth and recognition as a world-class manufacturing center extends to the aerospace industry. There are no less than 59 manufacturing entities in a cluster spread across square miles near the airport, being Mexico’s most important and primary generator of aerospace- related production and revenue.

The expo consisted of exhibitors in the outer hall, including ABC, and a full program of seminars and presentations made by aerospace leaders such as Boeing, who was also a major sponsor, as was BMW and some 70 buyers, suppliers, and trading partners. The U.S. and Mexican governmental departments of commerce were represented as well.

Notable seminar participants included a significant number of university students majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Other visitors were owners and CEO’s of many internationally recognized aircraft manufacturers and related firms.

Wadih Kuri, ABC’s President and CEO, and Vice President of CANACINTRA, Tijuana’s prominent Chamber of Industry said today “this special event is growing in stature each time it is held, reflecting the increasing value and importance associated with Tijuana as a primary center of aerospace engineering expertise and excellence. The energy and interest felt during the past two days has been palpable. On behalf of ABC and the Chamber, I thank the organizers who have, along with all the participants, whether speakers and presenters, or exhibitors and visitors who have traveled to get here, contributed so greatly to making this expo such a very real success”.
