Golf tournament August 30th 2019

Sponsors and Participates in one of the Major Events in Tijuana’s Industrial Calendar – the Annual Golf Tournament.

Completely sold out several weeks in advance, even 100 carts were insufficient to cope with the players and support needs. The day is organized by CANACINTRA, the Chamber for the Transformation of Industry, of which Wadih Kuri, ABC’s President and CEO, is Vice President.

The rise of Tijuana as Mexico’s second fastest growing city reflects the corporate commitment and investment pouring into the northern Baja region and especially Greater Tijuana.

ABC Aluminum is no exception, with major expansion currently well advanced to establish a complete plant annex that includes a state-of-the art re-melt facility, an additional press and a fully automated anodizing plant.

CANACINTRA’s leadership is committed to maximizing opportunities; these are accelerating, in part because of Tijuana’s most convenient geographic location, adjacent to the U.S. Border, San Diego and the economy of California. Plus, Mexico’s infrastructure is being improved too, a good example being the significant enlarging of the port of Ensenada, an hour or so south by road.

Inward investment and trade numbers are becoming ever more positive, and are due to several factors, but the youthfulness and dynamic, forward thinking of the city’s business leaders is significantly helping. Many attended the tournament, along with other sponsors and their guests, including from the United States.

Wadih Kuri commented: “this has always been a successful event but there is no doubt that with Tijuana now having close to a world-class course, and all the hard work put into the planning and execution, together with the generous support of some really great sponsors, this year has been judged by all to be the best yet”.
