ABC Attends the Aluminum Extruder’s Council’s 2018 Annual Meeting & Leadership Conference

ABC Aluminum was pleased to attend the AEC’s Conference again this year. The Extruder’s Council represents all the major extrusion manufacturers and, in addition to some 60-plus educational events planned for 2018, that ABC participates in, this is a major High-Point in the calendar.

Beginning with a Welcome Meet on Thursday evening, the highlight is the Chairman’s Banquet, this year held in the Crown Room, at the Hotel Del Coronado, a famous hotel that has welcomed several Presidents of the United States, with a formal dinner, and band, and dancing.

Many Members reunite, as colleagues and friends, and bring their spouses, and various excursions are carefully organized, as part of the fully planned schedule, including an afternoon golf tournament.

But the main Business consisted of presentations, on Safety, Business Excellence and Education, Academic Engagement, Fair Trade, and much more. Lawyers from D.C., who represent the industry, were also present to update on the most recent news regarding Government and Industry interests, and steps being taken, as part of ongoing Legislation, designed to protect the industry, and jobs; and our customers’ interests; and ongoing growth and success.

This was a packed Program, with Ross Shafer as the Featured Speaker, to round off presentations from leaders within the industry, with an especially entertaining and thought-provoking series of insights. In 1988, Ross replaced Joan Rivers as Host of Fox TV’s The Late Show and has won many Emmy Awards. Among other themes, he focused on ‘Keeping Top Leaders Relevant’.

Wadih Kuri, ABC’s Owner, President and CEO, said to Jeff Henderson, President of the AEC, and to Scott Kelley, the incoming Chairman for this year, and Lisse Jurcenko, and to all involved with organizing this multi-faceted event “Thank you!, and to everyone within the AEC, who made this special and invaluable Annual Meeting and Leadership Conference possible, for your hard work, and commitment, throughout the year, that is so greatly appreciated”.
