Associated with this, ABC Aluminum is Obtaining Certification ISO/TS 16949 – The International Supply Chain Quality Standard relating to Auto Parts.
Wadih Kuri, President and CEO made the news public this week with this announcement: “ABC Aluminum Solutions has won a substantial long term contract with one of the World’s best known suppliers of OEM parts used in many vital applications that rely upon quality and reliability of design and manufacture, across a range of industries”.
Mr Kuri added “at this point, our manufacture will be for this important new client’s Automobile Parts Division. ABC’s recently completed factory addition of a state-of-the-art production line featuring the latest technologies and an SMS-Meer 10 inch 3150MT Press will be widely employed in the manufacture of these important extrusions.
In conjunction with ABC’s diversification into the manufacture of auto parts, the work of becoming ISO/TS 16949 compliant and certified is close to completion and issuance.
About ISO/TS 16949: this is an ISO Technical Specification first developed in 2002 that enhances ISO9001 and addresses the establishment of a comprehensive Quality Management System, and imposes rules and regulations to be followed by all companies around the world who are involved in any aspect of the supply chain for Auto Parts.
It serves to harmonize the country-specific regulations regarding Quality Management Systems, provides for continual improvement, and emphasizes defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste.
The Certification’s requirements are intended to be applied throughout the supply chain, from parts manufacturers to vehicle assembly plants, around the Globe.
